Skydive Empuria Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

As of March 1st 2002, Skydive Empuria are introducing a form of Freefly licence called Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)   It will be necessary for Freeflyers of all levels to have some form of licence if they want to jump with anybody other than an instructor.   CBT has been set up according to the French B4 licence and it also has similarity to the British FF1 & FF2.

This training has been brought into existence by Skydive Empuria, who have asked BaByLoN to develop their existing safety program.   CBT aims to bring better safety awareness to Freefly and provide a basic level of flying skills.

BaByLoN have also produced a video called " Freefly Basics 1 ", this gives a demonstration of how to achieve the flying skills necessary to qualify for CBT.   To accompany the video, there is a booklet detailing the safety requirements, basic positions and how to achieve them, as well as giving general advice and tips on Freefly and CBT.   The video and booklet are available from Skydive Empuria and BaByLoN; the Guide is also available to download free in several languages by clicking on the appropriate image below.   The Guide is a PDF file and can be viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded by clicking on the link below.

CBT can be taken presently at BaByLoN
The French B4 licence and the British FF1 & FF2 are currently accepted as an equivalent, however all freeflyers will have to satisfy a thorough safety briefing and may need to do a check out jump to ascertain the level of skills.
