The Tunnel Camp:
  • 2 hours of flying time over 4 days
  • Individual flying time is usually blocked into 2½ minute periods
  • Rotating with other people through out sessions over the course of the day
  • Totaling to 30 minutes per day
Coaching Includes:
  • Briefing your flying sessions
  • Coaching you during your flying time

  • One, or more BaByLoN instructors, working together as a team, will take you through the right progression for your level and ability.
  • Spending non-flying time together talking, watching and generally hanging out with each other
  • We will try our best to adapt the camps to suit your needs
  • You can do fewer than 4 days but booking priority is given to those who want to attend the full camp

BaByLoN Tunnel Camps
During the camps organised by BaByLoN, our instructors offer training and skills sharing to you via their coaching techniques and their knowledge of exactly what is needed to train in the tunnel. These skills can then be transferred to your skydiving giving you a fantastic back up to airtime coaching and enhancing your flying in the air.

What Will I Learn?
We are often asked questions like "What will I learn?" or "What will your programme consist of?"
We prefer not to set any programme or "course" as we have found that our way of training in mixed groups using training camps makes it much easier for people to progress often far beyond their own expectations.
Although we do not offer a pre set, step-by-step method in terms of levels, you will see a visible and logical progression according to your skills and experience.
The training you will receive is based on our entire team's experience and development in the air and the tunnel and is the result of an amalgamation of all their knowledge, so you benefit from more than one person's instruction.

Who Can Benefit?
The camp is open to ANYONE!
The beauty of our camps is that you can be at any level or experience in skydiving or in tunnel flying.
Don't be afraid to be left out because you don't have enough experience.
You can only learn more what ever your current level, by watching other members of your group fly and listen to their debriefings as well as your own.

Being able to exchange your feelings and opinions with other people who are here to learn too is always good. We all have a different way to explain the same idea!!!
We are all here to help each other and get to a higher level.
Being a group is always better for the spirit!!!!

Why The Wind Tunnel?
From beginners to advanced flyers, the wind tunnel is certainly a very good way to evaluate and enhance your progression and it provides us with a tool to develop your flying skills much faster!
Tunnel-01.jpg Endless Flight
There are several benefits of wind tunnel training over actual flying in the air.
The first biggest single benefit being that you can fly for a longer concentrated amount of time than during a Freefly skydive.

During a skydive you have approximately 1 minute flying time whereas in the tunnel we would generally tend to fly in (approx) 2½ minute blocks going in and out over period of perhaps half an hour or more, the time is limited only by your own stamina and energy (and finances!).

This concentrated tunnel flying enables you to have more time to understand the consequences of the wind according to the different angles you create with your body.
You can then learn, in an easier environment, the flying positions that are more efficient adapted to your level.

Does Size Matter?
The Bodyflight wind tunnel at Bedford in the UK is the most powerful wind tunnel available to flyers.
With a flying chamber 4.9 meters wide and 8 meters high, Bodyflight Bedford in England is (most probably) THE largest wind tunnel in the World!

However even with that available space it doesn't give you as much compared to the huge amount of space you can use to fly around in the sky...

So the second benefit of the wind tunnel is the fact that you are surrounded by walls, flying in a restricted area and not free in the relatively unlimited space in the air.

This limitation of space helps you to learn, much faster and more safely, how to control the precision of your flight from a static basic position (back, belly, seat, head down...) to high speed acrobatic moves (transitions, carve, eagles etc...).

Wind Speed
Another privilege of the wind tunnel is that we are able to change the actual wind speed by adjusting the power of the engine. This allows you to fly at a rate that is perfect for your level and weight.

Start At The Bottom & Go Up
Another big advantage of this "training machine" is that you can always use the net base at the bottom of the tunnel as a support to have a solid starting point from which you can find the right position before trying to fly it.
